At The ROWDY Mermaid, we hold our studio to the same standard we hold our classes: high energy, zero compromise, and done right every single time. That starts with an immaculate space, and that is where you come in.
We are looking for reliable, detail-oriented cleaning and maintenance professionals to join our team at both our Belmar studio and our upcoming Oakhurst location opening in 2026. This is not a background role. The work you do directly shapes the experience every single member has, and we take that seriously.

The Schedule
We run a structured cleaning schedule across both locations to make sure our studios are fresh, sanitized, and guest-ready at all times. Here is what the commitment looks like:
Monday through Friday Two daily sessions totaling six hours per day. Morning sessions run before the studio opens to ensure the space is spotless for first class. Evening sessions run after the final class of the day to reset and sanitize for the following morning.
Saturday and Sunday One session of three hours per day. Weekend timing is scheduled around our class schedule and will be confirmed at the time of hire.
This is a consistent, recurring schedule with predictable hours. We are looking for individuals or small teams who can commit to this structure reliably week over week.
What You Can Expect

Our studios are high-traffic, high-sweat environments.
Infrared heat means our equipment, floors, mirrors, and surfaces need thorough attention every single day. The cleaning team is responsible for maintaining standards that our members notice and trust.
Day to day responsibilities include:
Thorough cleaning and sanitizing of all studio floors, mirrors, walls, and surfaces
Wiping down and disinfecting all equipment including weights, mats, resistance bands, bikes, and props after every session
Cleaning and restocking all restrooms and changing areas
Emptying and relining all trash and recycling receptacles
Cleaning and sanitizing the sauna room and surrounding areas
Wiping down the reception desk, lobby furniture, and retail display areas
Restocking cleaning supplies, paper products, and studio amenities
Reporting any maintenance concerns, damage, or supply needs to studio management
Maintaining the exterior entrance area as needed
Following all studio-specific cleaning protocols and product guidelines provided at onboarding

We need people who care about the work they do. The specifics matter less to us than the attitude behind them.
Ideal candidates will have:
Prior professional cleaning or janitorial experience, commercial or residential
A strong attention to detail and personal pride in the quality of their work
Reliability and consistency, this schedule requires someone we can count on every week
The ability to work independently and manage time efficiently within a set window
Familiarity with commercial cleaning products and proper sanitation protocols
A positive, professional attitude and respect for the studio space and its members
Flexibility to occasionally adjust timing around studio events or schedule changes
Experience cleaning fitness studios, gyms, or similar environments is a plus but not required

We are open to both. Individual applicants and small cleaning teams or companies are welcome to apply. Please indicate in your application whether you are applying as an individual or representing a team or business.

We will make sure you have what you need. If you prefer to bring your own equipment please let us know. You will receive a full onboarding session covering our specific protocols and product guidelines before your first shift.

The morning and evening shift windows are set around our class schedule, but we are happy to discuss exact start times during the interview process. Weekend timing will be confirmed based on the class schedule at each location.

Morning shifts will typically occur before staff and instructors arrive. Evening shifts may overlap with the end of the class day. You will have access to everything you need and a point of contact available for any questions or issues that arise during your shift.

Not at all. We will train you on our specific protocols and standards. What we cannot train is reliability and pride in your work. Those we are looking for from the start.
