We Are Looking for People Who Are Rowdy About What They Do.

A woman stands in a room with plants, wooden furniture, and a surfboard, wearing black shorts, a gray crop top, and a gray hoodie, with a white wall and shelf behind her.

This is not your average fitness job.

We are building something here.

A community rooted in genuine connection, zero judgment, and the belief that movement changes people from the inside out. Every instructor who steps into a ROWDY class carries that with them. They are creating an experience that people will talk about for the rest of the day, come back for the next morning, and bring their best friends to on Saturday.

If that is the kind of work that lights you up, we want to hear from you.

The ROWDY Mermaid is expanding to a second location in Oakhurst, New Jersey in 2026, and we are growing our team across both studios.

We are looking for instructors, front desk staff, and studio support team members who are passionate about fitness, deeply committed to community, and ready to be part of something that is only getting bigger.

What We Stand For

At ROWDY, everything we do comes back to three things.

Sweat. We believe in the power of movement. Our infrared-heated studio is designed to push people further than they thought they could go and help them recover faster than they expected. We take our training seriously, and our team does too.

Support. Every class at The ROWDY Mermaid is a zero-judgment zone. The people who walk through our doors come from every background, every fitness level, and every chapter of their lives. Our team meets every single one of them with the same energy: welcoming, present, and genuinely invested in their progress.

Showing Up. Consistency is everything in fitness and it is everything on a team. We are looking for people who show up fully, every time, because our community deserves nothing less.

Our Open Positions

  • We are actively seeking certified group fitness instructors to lead classes across both of our New Jersey locations.

Current formats include Burn, Power, Sculpt, Barre, Yoga, Core Focus, Infrared Spin, Traditional Spin, and Step Aerobics. We welcome instructors with specializations across multiple formats an in areas not listed.

What we are looking for in our instructors:

    • Current group fitness certification from a nationally recognized organization (NASM, ACE, AFAA, or equivalent)

    • CPR and AED certification

    • Genuine passion for coaching, not just demonstrating

    • The ability to read a room, adapt in real time, and make every person in class feel seen

    • Energy that is contagious without being performative

    • A commitment to continuous learning and professional growth

    • Experience in a boutique fitness environment is a plus, but not required if your passion and skill are there

What teaching at ROWDY looks like:

You will lead infrared-heated classes of varying formats and lengths in a boutique studio environment with a strong, loyal community. You will have the creative freedom to bring your own personality and style to every class while staying true to the ROWDY brand. You will be supported by a team that genuinely has your back and a founder who is invested in your growth as an instructor.

  • The front desk at The ROWDY Mermaid is the first thing people experience when they walk through our doors. We need someone who understands that this role is not administrative. It is the heartbeat of the member experience.

    What we are looking for:

    • A warm, outgoing personality that makes people feel immediately at home

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

    • Experience with scheduling software or booking platforms (MindBody experience is a plus)

    • The ability to handle a busy, energetic environment with calm and confidence

    • A genuine love for fitness and wellness, and enthusiasm for what ROWDY stands for

    • Availability for morning, evening, and weekend shifts

What this role looks like day to day:

You will greet members, manage class bookings, handle merchandise transactions, answer questions in person and via phone and email, handle membership inquiries, support the instructors, and keep the studio running smoothly before, during, and after class.

You are often the last person a member interacts with when they leave, which means you have the opportunity to send them back into their day feeling even better than the workout already made them feel.

Why Work at The ROWDY Mermaid

The Community is Real

What you see on our Instagram and in our reviews is not curated. The people who train here genuinely care about each other, and that extends to the people who work here too. When you join the ROWDY team, you become part of something that goes beyond a schedule and a paycheck.

The Growth is Real

We are expanding. A second location is opening in 2026 and we are building the team that will grow with it. If you are someone who wants to build a career in fitness and wellness, not just hold a part-time position, there is genuine opportunity here.

The Culture is Real

Amelia built this studio around the belief that nobody should have to be smaller, quieter, or easier to understand to earn their place in a room. That applies to our members and it applies to our team. We want the full version of you, not a performance of professionalism.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We prefer candidates who are local to or able to reliably commute to Monmouth County, New Jersey. Both studio locations are on the Jersey Shore, and we love team members who are connected to this community.

  • All instructors must hold a current group fitness certification from a nationally recognized organization and current CPR and AED certification. Specific format certifications (spin, yoga, barre, etc.) are preferred depending on the classes you will be teaching.

  • Our second location is scheduled to open in 2026. We are building the team now so that when we open, we are ready. Applying early puts you in the first consideration pool for both locations.
