How It Started
Amelia grew up in the water. Four years an NCAA All-American swimmer. Years after that spent teaching kids to move their bodies and believe in what those bodies could do. She knew what it felt like to be strong. She also knew what it felt like to walk into a gym and feel like you didn't belong there.
She started The ROWDY Mermaid in 2024 after noticing there was a lack of genuine and unique fitness studios on The Jersey Shore. Amelia wanted to create a space for the girls who were deemed “too much,” the individuals who may be intimidated by get back into fitness, or those who were yearning for a community who yould accept them for exactly who they are.
The name says the rest. Mermaid because the ocean raised her. ROWDY because quiet was never going to cut it. This studio was built to be loud, sweaty, and completely unbothered by what fitness is "supposed" to look like.
What started as one woman and a heat lamp turned into a crew. A community. A place on Main Street in Belmar where people show up as they are and leave stronger than they walked in.

ROWDY is more than a workout studio, it’s a place where I have built physical and emotional strength and cultivated lifelong friendships. So often do workout studios perpetuate a certain look in both their instructors and their patrons. I want to work out at a place that welcomes all types of bodies and people and is free of judgement. At ROWDY, everyone is welcome, and their inclusive environment is what matters most to me. Pushing people to their limits and showing them what they are capable of is what owner Amelia is most passionate about. Her love of fitness and humorous personality is infectious. I look forward to my classes every week and I am so happy to be a part of the community.

I attended a Hot Sculpt class at The ROWDY Mermaid and it was absolutely amazing! The instructors brought such high energy and made the class both fun and challenging. Their instruction was top-tier, and their vibe was contagious. Even with a two-hour drive, it was 100% worth it. Amelia Buckley is the driving force behind The ROWDY Mermaid. With a passion for fitness and a love for creating vibrant energy, Amelia's journey as a fitness influence spans over a decade.
Her mission at The ROWDY Mermaid is simple: to cultivate an atmosphere where people feel supported, encouraged, and energized.
Amelia's credentials speak volumes about her expertise: she holds a CSCS certification, alongside group fitness certification from NASM, and is certified in CPR, AED, and first aid.
With a background rooted in strength and conditioning, Amelia's experience is displayed by her collegiate swimming career, earning her the title of a four-time NCAA All-American athlete.
Beyond the gym walls, Amelia embraces an active lifestyle, indulging in activities like surfing, running, and swimming, with a particular fondness for beach workouts blending sand training, surfing, and swimming.
As a health and physical education teacher, Amelia's dedication to fitness extends beyond her business. Her inclusive approach caters to individuals of all levels, including adapted physical education.
With Amelia at the helm, you're not just attending a fitness class – you're embarking on a journey of empowerment, vitality, and rowdiness.

With over 15 years of practice and more than a decade of teaching, Cassie brings depth, rhythm, and energy to every vinyasa flow.
Her classes move at an invigorating pace, weaving music, breath, and movement into a seamless meditation in motion.
Expect pulsing transitions, strength-building sequences, and flexibility work that ignite muscle, challenge endurance, and leave you with that addictive post-class burn.
Most importantly, her studio is a judgment-free space where students of all levels can explore, grow, and feel supported on their journey—whether you’re stepping on the mat for the first time or advancing a long-term practice.

A Jersey girl through and through, Mackenzie brings empowering, positive energy to every class.
Living in Spring Lake Heights with her husband and goldendoodle, she’s been active her entire life—from competitive dance and lacrosse to kickboxing and strength training. Her passion for health and fitness led her to become a certified boxing and weight training instructor.
When she’s not teaching or working in influencer marketing technology, you’ll find her outdoors surfing, hiking, skiing, or at the beach — she thrives in nature and is truly a mermaid at heart.
Her laidback optimism is contagious, and her classes are high-energy, high-intensity, & guaranteed to pack a punch!

With over five years of experience in fitness and nutrition, she has guided clients through one-on-one training, group classes, and personalized coaching designed to deliver lasting results.
Backed by a B.S. in Dietetics and Nutrition and currently pursuing her M.S. in Sports Nutrition, Emily understands how to connect movement and fuel to maximize performance and overall health.
Her classes at The Rowdy Mermaid — Sculpt, Core Focus, Power, Barre, and Burn — combine strength, precision, and intensity.
Expect targeted sequences that fire up the core, build endurance, and leave you feeling strong and empowered.

Eleonora Zampatti brings over 25 years of expertise and an unstoppable passion for movement to every class she leads.
Born in Milan and trained across more than 25 certifications—spanning yoga, Pilates, personal training, Aquafit, spinning, and beyond—she’s mastered the art of building strength with accessibility.
Once an international step champion, Eleonora has since evolved into a globally recognized yoga teacher, fitness influencer, and author, partnering with top brands and inspiring communities around the world. Her classes fuse grit and grace, balancing intensity with flow, so every client feels both challenged and empowered.
Whether it’s yoga, Pilates, bootcamp, or HIIT, Eleonora’s mission is simple: push you to discover your strength, find your rhythm, and leave the studio stronger in body and mind.

After years of competing at the highest level, she traded the field for the studio, channeling her love of movement into teaching.
At Rowdy Mermaid, Morgan leads burn, sculpt, and power classes that fuse athletic intensity with purposeful, Pilates-inspired control.
Her goal is simple: challenge you to dig deep, move with intention, and walk out stronger, more resilient, and ready for whatever comes next.
